Deception Bay is a large bay on the coast of Antarctica. It is located on the west side of the Antarctic Peninsula, and is bounded by the mainland to the north and the Joinville Island group to the south. The bay is about 100 km (62 mi) wide and 50 km (31 mi) deep, and has an area of about 4,000 km2 (1,500 sq mi). Deception Bay is famous for its active volcano, Mount Erebus.
