Ingeniero Luis A. Huergo (1837-1902) was an Argentine engineer, architect and politician. He is best known for his work on the construction of the Buenos Aires Western Railway, the first railway in Argentina. He also served as Minister of Public Works and as Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires. Huergo was born in Buenos Aires in 1837. He studied engineering at the University of Buenos Aires, graduating in 1859. He then worked for the Argentine National Railways, where he rose to the position of Chief Engineer.
